This may sound to you like a state of deep sleep.
This experience does not occur the first time one closes one’s eyes for the practices of meditation. It will take some times to attain this state, maybe months, maybe years, but anyone who practises regularly, sincerely and without expectation can and will reach great heights in meditation.
On the path to meditation you will learn many wonderful things, you will witness yourself developing and expanding, and you will able to see all your potential blossoming as your inner self unfolds. during sleep the mind is not properly at rest, particularly when it is involved in dreams. The most beneficial rest is gained when the mind is fully concentrated in the practice of meditation, and ones this can be achieved, little sleep is required. 3-4 hours will be quit sufficient. Research has shown that most bodily functions can be controlled by means of concentration  meditation  therefore, has a great roll to play in the treatment of disease, particularly mental illnesses.and the whole range o psychosomatic illness. During the practice of meditation an increased supply of prana is directed to the brain  and hence its functioning is greatly improved. the ability to understand, memorize and retain knowledge is there by sharply increased. this is why so many students academics are attracted to the path of yoga and meditation. It is well known that 9-10 of the human brain is not being utilize. with in these dormant parts, many of these so-called ‘psychic” functions can be activated, such as esp, telepathy, etc.
No matter which system you follow their will be difficulty, for you will be trading this path for the first and you do not know the way in. You must keep your interest alive for ones it is lost it is difficult to recreate the original motivation and re-establish meditation as part of your daily routine.
